Ultimate or something of the sort

10 08 2007

Everyone interested in some type Ultimate: depending on how many people are interested/what kind of game everyone’s interested in I’ll (Marcianna) set up games/tournaments or pick up games etc.

Sooo if everyone can pass the word around to get in touch with me and let me know what the main interest is that would be great.

If anyone has any ideas let me know:

Two things:

We have a “The Team” page, so send me your bios. write a lil sumthinsumthin and send me an email or whatever. include name, grade, # years been playing the ole FB, and anything else you want. oh, and point out anything you want me to format (bold, italics, underline, etc).

Also, it looks like we won’t be going to the States tournament this year. :( oh well.

Wed May 2 / coaching

2 05 2007

game stuff
Wear a dark shirt, preferably black or maroon.
Bring something to cover your feet—sneakers or cleats.
Also wear comfortable shorts. Underwear is also recommended. They may be hot girls, but they’re our ENEMIES.
Also bring water, gatorade, etc—AT LEAST A LITER (one Nalgene-full).
I will not have community water for the game. I know it may be selfish, but I’d rather die selfish when I’m sixty than die thirsty at 18.

Wednesday, May 2:
where: College
when: be there by 3:45, warm up, games 4:15-6:30
who: anybody. from MHS/U32. who isn’t high or hammered. but anybody can play, really.

coaching
yeah so i’m probably cutting back on the whole coaching thing. it’s not gonna work to say “hey you! show up to practice!” ohwell.
anyway, if you show up to practice in the future, we might just play, or we might be doing something mildly “educational” and you might learn something. so i’m leaving it in your hands.

oh but be aware: we might have a real coach sometime in the future.

Tourney
It doesn’t look like we have enough people interested to send in a bid.sorry folks, we’re not going Tourney or Bust. =[

Geezer Games

30 04 2007

when: Tuesdays and Fridays at 5:30. Not held in the winter or during inclement weather (Note: raining is NOT inclement unless it is less than 50°F).
where: State House lawn.

Shoes are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Some of these guys play with cleats and have no qualms about skying people—which could end up in smashed toes.
Water is also a MUST. These guys are INTENSE and will RUN YOU.

2007 Vermont State Champs

30 04 2007

The 2007 Vermont State Championship Tournament is happening May 27, at Williston, from 9am to 5pm. This is an amazing opportunity and iss gon’ be WICKED fun.

What This Means: we wake up bright an’ early, jump into cars, and drive to Williston. Unload, set up in our box, get set. Then we play frisbee ALL F*KING DAY. Lunch is provided (according to Marcy it’s stuff like a bagel, a banana, peanut butter, etc). Tourney discs are $10 (you can see the design here). Then, after we’re all tuckered out, they hand out trophies to the first place team, the second place team, and the team with the most spirit. And then we flop (or ooze, depending on your style) into the cars and drive home. AND (get this) montpelier students get A DAY OFF the next day!

(More of) What This Means: it costs $100 to register a team. If I sense that people want to go, I’ll probably bite the bullet and pay for it all myself. I WILL be expecting people to pay me back.

The way i figger it, if we can take 15 players, each will pay $5 for UPA registration and $6.67 for the tournament cost. Total: $11.67.

So yeah: talk to your folks about the 27th. Our bid for the tournament is DUE THIS FRIDAY (May 4). This means we MAIL IT IN ON TUESDAY, which means I NEED TO KNOW IF YOU’RE GOING BY TUESDAY. If I think that people do want to go and it’s just a matter of checking with parents, we can say “oh, we’ll bring a team of 15 people” and then work out later who those 15 people are–this might offer incentive to come to practice if we say “we’ll take the 15 most dedicated players.”
get back to me, Marcy, or Anne if you can (or can’t) do the tourney.

Tourney Confirmation:
Spencer Williams
Marcianna Tulecke-Byer
Alison Howland
Hannah Clemente
Emma Schoenberg
